Greetings, test subject!

Welcome to an innovative programme dedicated to transforming ordinary mobile devices into highly advanced, emotionally unstable domestic security equipment.

To begin, press Arm Turret, approve the requested camera and motion permissions, and place your device upright in a strategically important location. Suitable locations include desks, shelves, test-chamber entrances, and anywhere currently occupied by a suspicious houseplant.

Following a brief deployment period, the turret will begin monitoring its surroundings. Movement detected by the camera may be classified as a potential threat, an unauthorised test subject, or somebody attempting to reach the biscuits.

If the device is picked up, the turret may become distressed. This is expected behaviour. Return it to a stable surface and avoid making promises you are not prepared to keep.

If the turret is knocked onto its back, it will panic, discharge its weapons indiscriminately, and shut down. The Aperture Science Safety Department has reviewed this behaviour and found no surviving objections.

Camera images are processed locally on your device. No video is recorded or uploaded. The Aperture Science Digital Sentry Turret Initiative is interested only in movement, science, and whether you are still there.

Operating instructions:

1. Press Arm Turret.
2. Allow camera and motion access when requested.
3. Place the device upright and step away calmly.
4. Avoid sudden movements.
5. Ignore step four. Sudden movements provide more useful test data.
